The Basics of Football

Football

Football is a sport that requires a lot of preparation, training and endurance. It is played at professional level all over the world. It is mainly a game played by teams of 45-50 players.

The goal of the game is to move the ball into the opponents end zone. This can be done with passing, kicking or running. The game ends when the ball is tackled. It is played on a field with clearly marked yardage lines.

A standard adult football game is comprised of two halves. Each half lasts about 45 minutes. The first half is referred to as the “first quarter” and the second half as the “second quarter.” The game can also be split into two periods of 15 minutes each.

There are 17 laws governing the game. Some of them are modified for certain groups. They include:

The number of offensive and defensive players. The number of players in each position determines the style of play. The more forwards and fewer defenders, the more aggressive the game is.

A kickoff is the starting point of the game. The offensive team has 30 seconds to line up. They will then pass the ball to a running back. The running back will then run towards the goal. The offensive team must gain at least 10 yards before the fourth down.

A fumble is when the ball comes loose from the offense. When this happens, the defense gains control of the ball.
